Smart move on Jaguar's part
With the change for MY16 to extend the warranty to 5 years and also provide complimentary maintenance for the warranty period, I think Jaguar has been very smart and has done something that will have a material impact on brand perception.
I've posted before that legacy concerns about reliability will still be hampering Jaguar sales in the US (it seems pretty much everyone knows someone with an old Jaguar horror story) and these changes plus the much improved rankings in the JD Power surveys should help.
Good to see Jaguar make these changes, they are exactly what the brand needed to do, albeit it kind of sucks a little for the MY14/15 early adopters who have done more than anyone to get the word out about these cars and only got the 4 yr and first service free.
Still - good move.

Stohlen, sounds like your perfect time is coming in a few days. Any word from your dealer when she's arriving?

The legacy reputation from the dreadful build quality of the 1970's still haunts Jaguar in markets around the World.
This is, as you say, a good move.

The original March 20th delivery estimate seems relatively accurate at this point. Probably sometime that week it will show up. Which is perfect timing as its just starting to warm up here.
Platinum Service was for 2011 5 years 50,000 miles with brakes & wiper blades also included. For 2012 it was just the services & 4 years 50000 miles.
That won't be known until the other 2016 models are launched, probably much later in the year.
my 2011 XF SC, 2012 XKR-S and now 2014 F-Type all had 5 year, 60K Miles and full service included. Do not know what you guys are talking about? I have never paid a nickel when picking my car up from the service department at Jaguar.
Did you read the factory warranty and service terms for your F-Type?
Perhaps you've paid nothing yet, because you've only had one service. The first service is free but your next one will not be, unless you have a friend/dealership owner. Moreover, your warranty is 4/50, unless you received some sort of special deal from your dealer as part of the transaction.

Schwabe,

Pulled out my sticker and you are right. WOW, I guess that is how Jaguar amongst other things kept the introductory price on the F-Type down, both my XF and XKR-S are 5/60k miles with service included for 5 years. I have never paid for service at a Jaguar dealership ...
