Default Someone kissed my Jag rear end.

So, someone decided to kiss the rear end on my car last month. They are replacing the top and lower bumper covers. Grand total of about $1100. Not too bad. I turn my car in to the shop on Monday.
The insurance company wants to get me a generic car rental. I asked for an f-type. Enterprise rents them for $250 a day or $2100 a week.
Should I push them to get want I want?

Also.. what about depreciation? My car already had 30k miles. Will this accident depreciate it more? Should I ask for compensation?

Your rental car depends on your insurance contract.

Yes push for diminished value you now have a CarFax report of an accident. Most dealers and buyers will try to knock a few thousand at least off the car at trade or sale. If it's in your contract make sure you go after them.

Question.... police see a car kiss my parked car. Make a report.

I initiate an insurance claim, but there is literally no damage (nearly impossible to see at least). I am not going to go through with the claim.

Will my claim that was not fulfilled hit the carfax?

You didn't say who's insurance company it is. What you can demand depends on the laws in your particular state. If it's your insurance company, definitely not just because you don't want the total cost of the claim to go up which they'd likely pass on to you down the road through increased premiums. Even if it's the other person's insurance company, you can usually demand the same size car, but them providing a particular one is generally not something they have to do.

Your car has definitely lost value due to being hit. Assuming that it's someone else's insurance company, ask how much the diminished value will be, not if they will give it to you.

Many states don't require insurance companies to offer "diminished value" coverage, and I don't know what Texas does. Just understand that it may not be available where you are.

If you cover all the expenses yourself and do not contact the police there will be no Carfax. I had someone hit my XKR in the wheel when it was new and nothing ever showed up.

I got a Diminished Value check for $39.00

I followed the formula they used. I got about the same result.

It's pretty safe to say that something's wrong with the formula.

You're shopping for a 2014 F-Type. Both are identical, but one has had the lower bumper cover replaced and costs $39 less than the other. Would you pay the $39 extra?
