Default Sounds of new F-Type R

Like the post says, there are lot of changes to the sheetmetal. But fortunately, it still sounds like the business.

Thankfully it still sounds amazing and has that iconic motor (sound). However it probably weighs the same and there wasn’t any options for performance brakes that aren’t CCB. I like what they’ve done but it’s not anywhere near enough to sway me out of my
16 F type R. If anything I’d still want an SVR over the new f type R, even given there identical performance wise.

I disagree that has the same pops and crackles as older V8s. Neutral is the best case for the new software, these cars just don't pop and crackle to the same extent on the overrun, maybe one or two pops unless is a hard downshift.

Fortunately it still sounds great, pretty much the same as the V8 with the OPF/GPF.

We are lucky that Jaguar is building their cars according to current noise regulations. A lot of other manufacturers like Mercedes or Audi are already building their new AMG or RS models with noise regulations that will take effect in about 2024-25 in Europe, that is why they feel much more castrated compared to before.

Now, this car in the video is one of the pre-serial presentation cars. No prove about the sound on the later real stuff.

I would definitely take a Type R over the new one, for sure.

that car is most likely a US spec - god bless trump's murica for not complying with euro wtpl emission regs

euro spec cars will definitely be greta'd, no question, the current f-types already are

i'm not sure whether our aussie spec cars will be, i won't be ordering one until i hear/drive a 2020 irl

Pretty sure Oz spec = Euro spec, at least for all this "emissions" malarkey, so I expect all Oz 2020 and 2021 F-Types will have OPFs.

Yep, pretty sure they are.
There is a thread or post around here somewhere about the newer Oz stationary noise regs which have neutered the F-Type's snap crackle & pop, from MY 2019 on.

Gooday Oz, I think that was only for the v6. I'm guessing that the regs allow for the v8 to be noisier stock which actually ***** me, I should be allowed to be just as obnoxious in my 6 as anyone in an 8 - in fact I should be allowed to be more obnoxious because my emissions are otherwise lower.

I'am no lover of the "Fart Can" Rice Rockets, or their crowd. But give me a Good Exhaust note through a moderate exhaust, and man I Love it. It can Roar, at full throttle, yet when driven "Fairly Normal" it's not garnering to much of the "Noise Police's" attention. I don't care if it's a four banger, straight six, V6, V8 and the V12. They all sound great! Except the GM V6 3.4 family of engines. They SUCK! A guy was running one at the local dirt track, and it was the most hideous sounding thing I had ever heard. God Awful! Just my personal observations.

I have had a letter from rhe home owner association and a visit by the police for speeding and noiae from rhe neighborhood Karen.. A picture of my car put on rhe neighborhood chat room from a ring doorbell from a pissed off neighbor. Said I was reving up my engine and speeding . Wasn't doing either
Cop laughed. He said DONT close The baffles when I said I would, he said it sounds to good.
