Default Special modes not available and electronic steering issues

I have a 2016 type s manual. So yesterday I started my car and it give the electronic steering power limited. I turned it off and it started again without and warnings. I tried switching it to dynamic mode and it told me special modes are not available. I drove into work and it worked fine just no dynamic mode. When I left gave me the same errors.

I have seen some threads with the same issue. I have found this https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/SB-10095101-1020.pdf which seems to by issue. My main concern is it’s not the same year. I am thinking of replacing the earth link myself and if that doesn’t fix it I’ll take it in. But I can’t find that part online. So I’d have to order it from jaguar. Would my car even use that same cable?

Anyone here ever have this same issue? Any pointers or tips? Thanks in advance

I’d start with battery condition. Have it tested with a Midtronic or similar, not the old carbon pile type tester. My new to me Pace S had some odd behaviors, I tested its battery with my P300 and found it had 500 amps. Then I tested my ‘18 Pace for reference and it had 900 amps. Popped in a new Interstate AGM and reset the BMS with an Autel and the car is much happier.

I’ll start with that. Thanks for the tip

Always best to start with a fully charged battery before doing any diagnosis ....
