First post on here and i'm hoping one of your fine people can help me.

I've purchased some seats from a F-type jag. Im not sure of the year. They are manual slide front/rear however the tilt on them appears to be electrical.

Because i wont be fitting these seats into a F-type (they are going in a 1994 supra) i will not have access to the tilt controls. I would like to achieve this with some jerryriging the tilt motor somehow.

Does anybody have a wiring diagram for the seats at all? or know where i can find them?

I've attached a picture of the type of seats they are.

I appreciate any help you can give.

 

Sadly I can't help with the Diagram but I'd love to see the finished product and hope you will post some photos of your MKIV when its completed with these seats, they look awesome!

It doesn't show the wiring inside the seats, but it does show the harness that connect to the seats, and therefore the pinout of the connector on the seat. The top of that section on wiring explains how to read the drawings.

 

Those are the Performance seats, not Sport, in suedecloth. Other than that, I'm no help at all. A question though: do you know what they weigh?

Wow that looks awesome and what i'm looking for. How to interpret it is another matter. Im wondering if i could just apply 12+ to the squab incline/recline...

Cheers ive had a good search last few hours and I can’t see why not.

ive planned to use some electric window switches which can take a single 12v feed and swap the polarity between motor outputs for each direction I could also use a double switch for the recline and seat base raising.

 

This is what the seats will be fitted in also for anybody interested.

I guess it would depend on the switches you use but I’d run via a relay rather than trying to get all that current through the switch itself as I doubt most modern ones are designed for it. Unless of course the seat already has relays. Did the seat connector have general +12/gnd inputs as well as inputs for the various functions?

 

Try to find some labels with part numbers on the seats somewhere, because the seat wiring totally changed for the 2018MY.

Part numbers starting with EX53 (2014), or JX53 (2018).

 

Those are indeed the performance seats , but I don’t believe they ever came with a mechanical slide. They were always 14 way electrically adjusted.

 

the seat has a ecu in the bottom of it where everything connects and will be can controlled id imagine. I’m not too clued up on electrics but I can’t see how a relay would help it’s just another switch most window switches are rated for 12v 30a which I expect is enough

there is a part number sticker I will check this can get back to you

they are definitely mechanical slide it’s the only reason I bought them as I wouldn’t have the electrical control you can see the arms here:

If the switches are rated that high then I'm sure you're right. Also if the seat has it's own ECU then even if the motor lines are just signals that'd still be OK

I managed to finally fit these to my supra. All the electrics is working too. Thanks for the excellent information here.
