Default Sticky buttons coating replacment

I've seen several threads on how to remove the defective sticky coating on our dash and steering wheel surfaces, but no where have I seen anyone suggesting a replacement coating to protect the lettering and base plastic after removing the defective coating. Jag did all mine except 1 under warranty, and now I have to deal with it. Has anyone recoated surfaces after cleaning/removal? If so, laquer, urethane? Thanks in advace for answers.

Early in our ownership, we replaced the P button on the shifter and clear-coated that with a urethane rattle-can I had already. Still holding up GREAT.

I've not coated any other cleaned buttons on the door switches, shift console, or rear storage compartment surround.

I don't know because after I removed all the sticky stuff I did not put anything on the lettering?
It's been a couple of years and nothing has ever worn off either?
