Yes, but I take part of the blame too. In the past, I've told them not to install the bracket and taken care of it myself later. I don't know why I didn't do the same thing this time.

I'm sure they he expected I'd never see it, which I wouldn't have had this great new option not become available. He did get it on centered and straight the 2nd time.

Maybe Shift will call up your dealer and get them to paint it white.

Nah, no one would ever consider something that off the wall.

Thanks. This reminds me that I need to get to my dealer before mine arrives to be sure they don't drill the holes in the grill bar for the license plate bracket.

My dealer was smart and asked me if I wanted them to mount the front plate bracket. They know that most F-Type owners don't want to mount a front plate, even though its technically the law in CA, so I just needed to accept responsibility for taking care of it myself.

I asked the SJ dealer several times not to attach it before the car arrived and they said no problem, they don't as a policy...

I already sent an email to my GM last night: no bracket, don't wash!

Now the good recovery part, I called the GM at my dealer, and he agreed to make it right, so I will have an unblemished bar soon.
Maybe you can convince them to order Project 7 parts instead, and be the first with no front bar.

Slick solution, Buick! I ordered mine Sunday afternoon and got it today. Great service! It took just a few minutes to install with most of the time finding the right tool. A simple and clean setup. I will probably leave mine off most of the time, but it is nice to know I can slip it on any time in seconds.

Here it is on my extremely dusty car and a bad photo with an old 60’s vintage plate. I ordered new personalized 60’s legacy plates that look the same. I believe the CA DMV just started going into production for people who ordered them in 2013, so who knows when I will get mine.

Ordered mine on Sunday and received it today as well. Not going to mount it right off because, well, I haven't received a plate for the car yet.

Thanks. I figured the bolt would be anchored in plastic, so I was concerned about sufficient tightening, knowing Mike only uses the one fastener. (I also have experienced the joy of breaking off a few.)

Once you attach it,you'll see just how strong & sturdy it is...

Good to know. Thanks.

Heh, I'm more than a little skeptical when a new product comes along. I've been looking at so many plate hanger designs (including a few that are collecting dust in my garage) that when I came across something like Mike's product here it was, well, like you said earlier, "...so far from the norm it's almost unbelievable."

So once again, thanks for your numerous posts, promoting the forum discount and just plain doin' a bunch of legwork for us. [And Mike, if you're reading this, I also join others in wishing you, Mashell and 'STO N SHO' all the best. May the "Order Gods" heap a bunch your way at SEMA 2015.]

Got mine today, took less than 5 minutes to install. Seems pretty sturdy to me so far.

The only thing I'm slightly worried about is since its so low, if it does fall off it could do some serious damage to the under carraige. I don't think that'll happen based on how sturdy it is, but lets see how this thing performs now that its on more cars out there.

Pretty well engineered piece of kit though and super simple to install. Good job Mike and I'm so glad I procrastinated and didn't install the front license plate on the grill! Thanks for the tip buickcar
