Default Took my Bone Stock Ftype R to the track tonight...11.38 + 11.39@124mph

Well, I decided to take my Convertible Jag out to the dragstrip for some baseline runs before I start modifying the car. I learned a lot about this car at the drag strip with heat and such. I'm not going to clutter up this post with all of my findings on this, but if anyone wants any more info on this just private message me.
I let the car cool off for quite a while, got all ready for my first pass and OF COURSE I messed up on my first good pass as I let off before the 1/4 mile line and the car rolled through at 11.45@106mph on the brakes. That was going to be my best pass. Oh well.

So, I let the car cool off again but not nearly as much this time as the track was getting close to shutting down for the night and the car went 11.39@124mph and then hot lapped it to try and get one more run and the car did 11.38@124mph. I think the best this car has in it bone stock is probably around 11.25 on a perfect pass with no spin and a cooled down car.

Anyway, thought some of you may be interested in knowing the base pulls before I start modifying this car.

EDIT

Definitely not a 2015 R as in RWD. I have one and love it, but the take off traction under full throttle is eventful, but not as efficient as AWD.

Sorry, it's a 2016 AWD Convertible. I'll post a picture.

Thanks, car seems to be doing pretty well although I know there is another tenth and a half in it on a perfect pass.

From my research I believe a convertible weighs 3,847 and a couple weighs 3,814. I need to physically weigh mine and see what it comes in at.

I'm going to test the BMC air filters first and then do the lower pulley, upper pulley and tune. I do a lot of Draggy testing and it is very accurate...I run the Draggy at the track too and it's never optimistic...its only slower by .04 seconds and around .08mph or so. Sometimes that varies a little bit, but the point being it is highly accurate so a very good test tool.

Impressive numbers, better than the magazine guys got. Are you the only owner? Maybe you got a svr tune from the factory.

Great times and thanks for the feedback on the accuracy of Draggy. I always suspect those self timing things are inaccurate and they don't compare to real track numbers.
Yours are very close. I will never be able to post times like that but hope to get to run the 1/4 mile sometime in the future.

Sorry, been very busy lately and just now getting back to this. So I purchased this car with only around 15k miles and already took it to the Jaguar dealership in Kansas City to check it all over including what you are asking about. They checked it all over and hooked up to it as it still has factory warranty left on O2 sensors and such and they said that nothing has been done to this car.

It actually has about the same mph in the 1/8 and 1/4 as some of the faster bone stock ones though anyway, but I am also a huge drag racer too so that probably has a bit to do with it as I feel small differences in launching techniques, driving techniques, shifting rpm for RPM drop in each gear to keep the engine in the most efficient horsepower during the entire run and such. I have a 1,700hp Supra, 1,200hp Viper and then the Lamborghini that is more of my road race car but I just am a huge drag racer and can pick up on tenths of seconds differences in cars fairly quickly and adjust accordingly.

Since this car doesn't have launch control there are a lot of variations to get this thing down the track in the most efficient way.

No problem, yes the Draggy is spot on and it's also never optimistic either is what I have found running it down the race track.

Hey everyone,

I've been super busy lately, but just thought I would update this thread. I have a few modifications done to the car now and going to fine tune on the dyno and run at the track to compare the differences. I'll report back the gains and such.
