Who saw the Patagonia Christmas Special? 928, Espirit V8, and an Old School Mustang...

Just finished watching both parts. It was average I would say, not bad, but not super special. Had a very "been there, done that" vibe that most Top Gear has lately. The locale was really neat though. Enjoyed seeing the Chile and Argentina landscape.

Glad that the Coupe R gets a piece in season 22.

I watch it for the entertainment. Top Gear is rarely about the cars these days. Isn't that what Fifth Gear was for?

Same here - I watch it for a bit of light entertainment and car ****, rather than a genuine in-depth analysis of cars.

Did you see the latest Perfect Road Trip 2? Nearly cried when Hammond bingled the F Type!

Where did you see it? Is it on iTunes?

Perfect Road Trip 2

Had to work through a few ad popups but found it eventually.

Yeah that was hard to watch. Mentioned it in another thread about it, but it seems like they just scripted it to have Hammond not exactly like the Coupe R. His complaints were pretty thin and he sure seemed to like it while driving...until he crashed it. I wonder who is reviewing it for the series.

How did you watch it in America? Been looking all over. Would wait if they ever released a release date but so far they have said squat.

The BBC America cable channel runs the entire season eventually, but not on the original air dates in the UK.

The typical frowned upon ways. They usually will end up on BBC America or Netflix but usually edited or music replaced. I prefer the source.

You mind sending me a PM with the link you used? I don't have much patience to see this lol. The season, yes, the special, no. Watched the other seasons about 4 times now (have it on repeat while doing homework lol)

Richard Hammond couldn't hit an apex if it ran out to greet him.

That worked. Running it from iOS eliminated the popups.

Do you have a link to the Patagonia special?

Curious to see how the R does on the Top Gear test track. But it looks like it's wet so won't be that meaningful.

I'm just in the middle of watching part 1 of the Patagonia Special, and just noticed that the "offensive number plate" on Clarkson's Porsche that upset the Argentinians suddenly switched to be on Hammonds Mustang at about the 60 minute mark. Confirms in my mind that the number plates were contrived, and Clarkson's wasn't original to the Porsche like some claim. What possible reason could they legitimately have for swapping the FKL plates back and forth between cars other than to get them in more shots?

It was investigated by some auto-journalists shortly after the news broke and the UK auto records show that the plate has been registered to that car since 1991. Which is obviously before they bought the thing.
