Default TPMS Part Number

I have a Jaguar F Type R Coupe VIN K32831.

Is the TPMS system 315MHz or 433MHz?

Thank you if you can help.

Depends on what model year R? But most likely 433. Just go with Tire Rack

That's the issue. It is listed as a 2016 model year but was built in November 2015.

If I go to Tire Rack and put in 2015 I get the 315MHz part and 433MHz if I put in 2016.

I wondered if some one could tell which system the car was built with from the VIN. I cant seem to find anything.

Appreciate the help.

Just had the local Jag dealer run the VIN - he says go with 315MHz (2015).

Not had the best service out of this dealer but I guess I will need to trust them on this.

Appreciate the quick responses.

Well that answers that! Lol

I recall a few years ago when BMW changed over from indirect to direct TPMS mid model year, and Tire Rack would request which model year and build date. I just assumed TR would have that information and would have asked for the build date as well had it been issue.

Nevertheless, glad you received confirmation

What is the experience with the Tire Rack TPMS units?

Do they work fine or should a pay nearly double for the the genuine Jaguar parts?

Everything from K27309 was 433MHz: https://www.jaguarlandroverrenoparts...UtMGwtdjgtZ2Fz

I have K27733 built in June 2015 (2016 model) and 433MHz is the only thing that works.

Thanks - any ideas on how to check which unit works with the car short of fitting it to the new wheel?

Go to a real wheel/Tire shop, remove a wheel, set the new monitor under the hub, and see if the shop can sync it to the car with their handheld gizmo.
Otherwise just go by the VIN.

I suggest you remember this thread the next time you ask the dealer anything more complicated than is it raining. Granted there can be mid-year changes, but they are few and far between and usually mean something was seriously wrong.

Just to bring this to a conclusion - 433MHz was the right answer and the Tire Rack sourced TPMS work fine at half the cost of the Jag dealership price.

I also fitted 19" wheels on my 2016 T-Type R (non ceramic brakes) with no problems - I mention this as I have seen this question elsewhere on the forum.

Dealer comments are (sadly) accurate.

Thanks for the help.

Glad it all worked out.
So the sensors eventually recognized themselves the more miles you drove? Took a couple of days?

Also, which 19" wheels did you go with?

The sensors worked straight out of the shop - no recognition period required.

Not sure of the name of the wheel design but part #'s are 59908AMB and 59907AMB.

Pic attached.

Nice and shiny!!
I was confusing you for another member who was having trouble with his TPMS being recognized.
Looks good!

I just put in for a 2015 S Coupe on TR and it’s trying to sell me the 433mhz version which, according to this thread, is reserved for ‘16+MYs. I’m lost.

I just went through this. I bought a CPO V6. 1 of the TPM was replaced with the 315. The TPM warning light was on at the time I bought the car. The problem was it should have had the 433.

They switched from 315MHz to 433MHz at VIN K27308, so anything after May 2015 would be 433MHz (part #C2D43636). However, buying aftermarket sensors is a crap shoot. Some will synchronize with the TPMS and some won't. I have successfully purchased used OEM sensors on eBay for a third of the cost from the dealer.
