Does the Spitfire have switchable active exhaust?

Perhaps someone needs to fit the two-stage supercharger from the Rolls Royce Merlin to their car (you know who you are...)

Yes it took me a while to twig that "Castle Bromwich" in the Topix build sheet referred to The Factory ;-)

My grandfather worked on the Spitfire Merlins in the RAF. He would have loved my Jag.

This car has tremendous heritage and indeed blood, sweat and tears went into getting there. Sadly, its mostly unknown because modesty is the other side of the same coin.

Malcolm Sayer, the man who designed the E-type, was an aircraft designer and now considered a genius pioneer in aerodynamics- because the field had not been invented then. No one even remembered where he was buried.

Have you seen "First of a Few" with David Niven? It an incredible film on how the Spitfire came to be and its designer R.J. Mitchel died of exhaustion at the age of 42.

If you like Spitfires, Merlins, and Jaguars....
This is a must watch, as only Clarkson can put it into words.
