What's REALLY embarrassing is having stand up to explain why you can't ship product for lack of a UL label or Chicago power cord. It happens.

That said, the only excuse for taking two weeks is if there aren't any on the planet and they have totally stopped production. We standardly prioritized service parts ahead of production. I have had taken machines off the shipping dock to tear down for parts. And, I had guys who could get parts delivered from Europe as fast as our sister plant in NY.

For the cost of a plant tour, I'd be glad to give them some help.

I could certainly understand it if that were the case in this instance. However, all of these parts, including the flywheel facing are routine service items (albeit at 40-80,000 mile intervals rather than 800 miles). Oh well. Two days of research and help from forum members, I found the perfect replacement vehicle if they can't get the parts within the next 2 weeks. A BRG V6S (a virtual twin) down in Dallas. Just won't be able to bring myself to go to something else.

I think this is the perfect replacement for Lance - MT, and you won't see another one on the road.

Well, thank you for that suggestion. Not only meets many of my criteria, but will go well with my Pontiac Aztek and Davis D-2 Divan.

I think (hope) you'd go blind if you saw all 3 of those together.

A 15-20 year old car, at $50k-85k might be an easier conversation, but still tense. Now that the F-Type is back, and hopefully the clutch plate problem a one-off issue, there's no need to tempt fate.

Thank you all. I actually found my car's exact twin at a Dallas dealership and would have pulled the trigger on that one had the work on mine dragged out a few more weeks. Another F-Type appears to be the only alternative for me.

I consider the Ferrari 355 but honestly, a used car just doesn't have much appeal unless I am building it to as-new condition. Doing that on an old Ferrari would try my patience well beyond its limits.

Yeah, I mean. The short answer to the question is nothing. But if it has to be answered that's all I can come up with even close. I'm thinking, hang on to the F through modern engine swaps and software updates. The platform is 100%. All aluminum, dual A-arm setup, inline layout and a long *** hood. It doesn't really have an expiration date and it's fun as hell just the way it came out the door.

I agree. My thoughts wander to sticking a 5.6 w/650 hp and a tremec out of a Shelby mustang in mine when it gets tired.

My plan is to add a tune to take it up to ~620 bhp once the warranty expires if I end up keeping it that long.
