VAP Upgrades
I have a lot of upgrades planned for early next year as soon as I can get my car out of storage. A bunch of them are coming from VAP, I have a few questions and since so many people on this forum have experience with them I'm wondering if a couple of you could help me out.
- ECU Tune and Pulley
- I’m hesitant to install the upper/supercharger pulley alongside the lower pulley. I’ve read that installing both the upper pulley lower pulley together rotates the SC outside of it’s maximum rated RPM at high engine speeds. Is that true?
- How does the tune impact the normal/dynamic/sport drive mode selector?
- Does the tune change the throttle response across all three of these to a single "mode" or is it still changed dynamically between modes?
- Does the tune change how and when the exhaust valves open?
- Does it impact the overrun snaps/cracks from the exhaust?
- I’m assuming this tune does not effect the suspension, steering or transmission properties of each respective drive mode, correct?
- Any negative impacts to drivability?
- 200 Cell Sport Cats and Downpipe
- I need to be able to pass New York State emissions tests. They do this through OBD. Will these throw a check engine light or diagnostic code?
- ZF8HP70 Tuning
- Does the transmission software retain the ability to “learn/adapt” to driving styles/habits?
- How does this impact the normal/dynamic/sport drive mode selector? Does this tune have a blanket effect across all these to essentially create one transmission map or does it keep multiple transmission maps?
- Any negative impacts to drivability?
Nope
Nope
Only if you request a change. Chat with Stuart and he can give you the options here.
Does not change anything in those areas.
It will make you want to drive the car a lot more which means you'll be spending more on gas.
