VelocityAP Jaguar/Land Rover Datalogger for AJ133 & AJ126 Engines
Hello Everyone. I think this will be of great interest to many of you. As we have developed the software for these engine platforms further & further and started to support customers looking for that last little bit of 1/4 mile time we realized that we needed a better more complete datalogging solution. Yes, there are 'dataloggers' out there but the capabilities of them are very limited in terms of sampling rates and also in only logging generic PIDs. Ours includes over 40 PIDs and will sample all 40 at a rate of 8 snapshots per second.
Chris has been working very hard behind the scenes to develop something more advanced, and part of what we were doing with our airport testing the other day is putting the datalogging through it's paces. So for those of you who have been asking - here it is! We will have cables in stock in about 2 weeks to ship, and you will get a software interface as well.
If you think this doesn't apply to you because you're not a crazy racer and are more of a weekend cruiser, there's one cool feature of this that you might still be interested in. Our datalogger allows you to monitor oil level. Not just to rely on the electronic dipstick to flash you a warning (which we all know doesn't always work, and I've seen a couple engine failures to prove it.) We are able to provide a 'full' measurement in mm, and using this logger you can 'check' your oil level in mm to see how far it has dropped since a change. Nice peace of mind.
And for those of you who have been asking about Ethanol, yes this is an important step in making that a reality - being able to monitor fuel pump duty cycle in particular.
Do you offer just the software for purchase to people with applicable cables? I've already got a micropod, vector can cable, and an obdlink sx. I have to imagine one of these standard tools would work with whatever software you're using.

Not at the moment, I would have to confer with Chris to see if others are compatible. But the cables are not that expensive, so it wouldn't change the cost much anyway.

I'm just trying to keep the number of necessary cables down. There's already a unique one for the engine and transmission. I know you're probably just locked into what's available to work with, but it's a lot of stuff flying around the inside of the car at the track haha. I assume there's no way to datalog without a laptop as well? That's always less than ideal.
It's going to give you all the available PIDs, and you can select what you want to view. They are pretty well labelled. There are no parameters for where they 'should' be, although we'll be able to provide a 'full' and 'oh no bad stuff is about to happen' level for oil measurement.
