Easy to claim...but no evidence. Give me 19,000 british pounds, I'll give you 650 hp (maybe even for real).

Default Jaguar F-Type R with 650bhp revealed by tuning company VIP Design

Jaguar F-Type R with 650bhp revealed by tuning company VIP Design

Overhauled Jaguar F-Type Project Predator features a package of engine tweaks that push the coupé's 5.0-litre supercharged V8 up to 650bhp

A Jaguar F-Type R AWD coupé boasting 650bhp and a top speed of more than 200mph has been revealed by vehicle tuning and design company VIP Design.

The overhaul of the all-wheel-drive F-Type derivative has been created to showcase a new tuning and design package that VIP Design is offering.

The London-based company claims its revamped version - called the VIP Design F-Type Project Predator – has a lower (but as-yet unspecified) 0-62mph time and a top speed in excess of 200mph.

In comparison, the standard £91,680 F-Type R AWD coupé produces 542bhp from its 5.0-litre V8 engine, can sprint from 0-62mph in 3.9sec and has a top speed of 186mph.

The claimed power output for F-Type Project Predator even surpasses the 567bhp of Jaguar’s most powerful official derivative, the F-Type SVR coupé.

VIP Design has made changes to the engine including high-flow air filters, an uprated supercharger pulley and engine software remapping. According to the company, the changes “deliver hugely dramatic power delivery across the whole rev range”.

The F-Type R AWD coupé’s suspension has been lowered by 30mm and harder, stronger suspension components, joints and rubbers have been fitted.

A revised manifold-back exhaust system can be switched between two sound levels. VIP Design managing director Paul Busby said: “The exhaust was not deep enough, more of a shriek than a V8 rumble. The VIP Design F-Type Predator changes all that; the full manifold-back high performance exhaust system is switchable, allowing different levels – loud and really loud.”

VIP Design has also made a number of cosmetic tweaks to the F-Type R AWD coupé, including bonnet vents, front and rear splitters and a rear diffuser all made from carbonfibre. Prospective owners can also choose from 24 alloy wheel designs.

The package of changes, priced from £12,600, can be fitted to an existing F-Type R at VIP Design’s studio in Warwickshire. The company has focused on the V8 engine so far, but is now considering a similar package for V6-powered F-Type derivatives.

VIP Design is a collaboration between Paramount Performance, a company that has carried out Jaguar styling conversions since 1986, and ECU remapping specialist Viezu Technologies.

I don't see any reason why this engine can't make that much power, and much more. I find it hard to believe that Jaguar has produced an engine inferior to a simple GM small block which has been proven to be capable of far more power than that with forced induction. You can only spin that TVS so fast though. I wish we had options for better heads and cams like the other guys. Then we could start making some serious power.

On the tune only mine made 520whp on a dyno jet not sure how much the pulley added seems like 550whp is very doable. I got 23k miles on the tune and pulley and I beat the **** out of it the car has been bullet proof.

I think both Cletus and I would be more than happy to set up some races with this "most powerful F-Type" to really show them what's up!

I don't doubt that they can put out 650BHP, or extremely close to it. I'm 99% sure we can get that from a pulley, tune and a set of 200 cell sport cats or decats. We've seen 42WHP, roughly 605BHP from a tune alone. To add another 45BHP from the pulley and cat setup seems eminently feasible.

$19,000 is a phenomenal amount of money though. Notwithstanding the carbon parts, we do suspension, cats, pulley and tune for $3185.

I guess I should be putting our prices up?

LOL . . . something tells me that VIP isn't going to be selling many of those packages. If all continues to go well, I suspect you'll sell a lot of them.

650rwhp is a lot different than 650bhp. 650bhp is very easy from any of the 5.0 SC motors. 650rwhp would require either nitrous or a blower swap.

You could probably have steig port the stock blower since he does the S-Type R and Cobra and other blowers. Most likely get another ~50rwhp from the port. I'd imagine a port would run south of 1000$.

With a full exhaust, intake, tuned, pulley at 18# of boost and a port on the blower you could probably lay down close to 600rwhp. If you opened the motor you might be able to do 650rwhp or just put a 100 wet shot on it.

My email to steig:
2013 Jaguar 5.0 SC TVS R1900 Blower Port

What would be the estimated power gains for porting that car/blower and cost?

The reply:
1295 includes custom pully 7 to 10 percent gain spark plug swap

I could beat the 650hp for GBP19k. I would just add a turbo to feed the supercharger.

With as cramped as that engine bay is, you'd have to mount it on an exterior fender. Wouldn't put it past Arden. Would go well with the other garish crap they threw at the car.

You can basically achieve that with a pulley, tune, exhaust, cats, and TCP intake. Why pay 19,000 pounds or dollars whatever it is?

You don't really have too. Apparently Paramount-Performance sells all of the power/handling stuff individually. Including what appears to be a ridiculously excessive crank pulley:

I had an E55 with an upgraded crank pulley and it flew off the car...Those two piece pullies are garbage. Unless its a one piece welded design I would not do this mod personally.

The OEM pulley is a two piece, almost identical to this one.
