*** Warning --- This is cell phone mic so the quality sucks but you do get an idea of how loud it is. ******

This is VAP 200 Cats Downpipes and Valvetronic Race/Touring setup. It's perfect for me. Very happy.

If someone wants to ship me some decent audio equip or tell me where a not-so-expensive setup can be had I'll get better audio. I'd pay return shipping.

skip to 40seconds to start

40 seconds till about 2:15 is me driving out of my neighborhood

At around 2:15 I get out onto the main road and give it some gas...not WOT tho. Listen to my scared *** neighboor..lol

At 3:35 I do some valve closed stuff.

Yes that combo will wake up the neighbors for sure. I have the same setup, except I have taken complete control over the valves, which allows me to start the car with valve closed which limits the waking up to the immediate neighbors versus the whole block.

I bought an external vacuum pump that automatically shuts off when pressure is reached. Then connected a wastegate that is powered by muffler on/off switch (basically i tapped the switch, you could just make a separate switch if you don't want to go through the pain of wiring it directly into the console, but I wanted everything to feel OEM). I then ran vacuum lines through the trunk, under the car (there are a couple holes that go from the trunk that lead to the underside of the car) to the exhaust valves. I just capped the OEM vacuum lines, and they are not in use, but still there if I want to easily revert to factory. Now the exhaust switch powers the vacuum and wastegate that is sitting understand the trunk carpet.

One caveat. I basically tapped the light/LED switch/wire of the exhaust button in the console. When the light comes on it triggers the vacuum. However, the power sent to the light/LED is extremely low voltage, about 1.5V, not enough to trigger the 12V relay in the trunk, so I had to use a transistor to boost the output voltage to 12V. So it would be 100% easier if you just use an independent switch.

To make things easier, I think VAP sells a remote control version of the setup I built.
