Default Warning light: What do I look for??

Received this light along with a temporary illumination of the “BRAKE” and loss of stability message. Everything else cleared except this light.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to solve this??

That's the Check Engine Light, CEL. Plug in an ODB scanner and pull the code. If you don't have a scanner, an auto parts store should be able to pull that for you.

But be aware that the OBD tool may trigger the dreaded battery drain so check the hazard switch light - it should extinguish about 15 minutes after locking the car. If it stays lit you'll have to do the battery reset trick.

Reasonable chance it's an oxygen sensor. If so, JLR's provides extended coverage.

You can also use a smart phone with the Torque app to access information from the vehicle's PCM (Powertrain Control Module) through the OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) port using a Bluetooth interface.

If the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp/Light) is on, post the DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) here. If the MIL begins to flash, stop the engine as catalyst damage is the result.

Just found the letter from Jaguar telling me the O2 sensor is covered for 10 years. Hopefully that fixes this instead of a really serious problem. Just hate visiting a dealer.

In Canada the 02 sensors are covered by a 15 year warranty.

I think it’s 15 years for the V6 in the US, but I’d have to revisit the letter. Less for the V8.

Since you had some unrelated warnings, it might be a symptom of lower than optimal battery voltage. Put it on a CTEK or other maintainer and let it fully charge.
