Ok..this car is a lease. I noticed ( a few week after taking delivery) that on the inside glass of both headlights, there was some dried water spotting, not horrible, but it was there. I suspect that the dealer pressure washed the lamps point blank and there was some water ingress. Since then, I've been through a few very rainy months with no additional water ingress.

I notified the dealer, he looked at the lamps, and said it was covered under warranty.., the headlamps are available. So here's my question:

Is this a pretty straight ahead swap out? The current headlights work fine, and I don't really notice the water spots unless I put my nose down to the headlights. I'm wondering if a swap out might potentially cause more problems that weren't there to begin with, plus the hassle of doing it. I'm only 6 months into a 3 year lease..maybe I should wait?

Could you post the photos of your headlamp with the dried water spotting? Mine too have the same issues, brought it to the dealer and was told it is not bad enough to warrant a replacement.

 

this is with lighting for worse case scenario. Certain angles, and when casually looking, you really don't notice it much.

 

Definitely have it replaced. Your manual will actually state that some condensation inside the headlights is normal, but I had the same thing on my 2015 R Coupe. Noticed it within days of delivery. Has nothing to do with washing your car, and everything to do with the way the lights were originally sealed at manufacture.

I have had Zero problems since the Factory lamps were replaced by Newport Jaguar. Haven't had any more condensation stains either.
Get it replaced and be happy you did. Nothing to worry about.

 

Eeek, I'd replace it. No way I'd live with such visible blemish. It looks like bird poop.

Same boat, although mine isn't nearly as bad as yours. They power washed at the dealer (I know not to do that now...) and they were wet for about a day. I haven't been able to replicate using the local spray wash place. Wondering if it is worth it to have it be potentially worse after. But yours is way worse, I would do it if it were me.

Mine actually has that too. I noticed it even when I first inspected the car at the dealer showroom. Definitely wasn't a deal breaker to not buy the car. Doesn't really bother me much, but if it's an easy, no hassle experience at the dealer to replace them, I might do it.

 

I'll probably keep the appt. Although, I think it would only be fair for Jaguar to swap out my car for a MY2018 SVR for my pain and suffering :-)

I just took my car in for this issue earlier this week at my local jag dealer. They replaced both headlights under warranty

 

Replace it and make sure you get your original.

 

Can this be caused by condensation? We had dew point in the 70s yesterday and headlights had a lot of condensation when I came out in the morning at 6:30 am. Is there a problem with the seals?
