Angry Warranty Issues

First time post, so please excuse any etiquette errors.

I experienced a CEL recently, went to Autozone & diagnosed it as P0042; HO2S Heater Control Circuit (Bank 1, Sensor 3). Bank 1 is R side, Sensor 3 is aft of catalytic converter. Anyhow, I make an appointment with local dealer located Union City, GA, USA. I receive a text the morning I'm scheduled to take the car in stating service may take 6 to 8 business days. I activated Guardian alert via In-Control & nothing for 5 days. That afternoon I get a text from dealership stating sensor has been ordered & will take 4 business days to receive. Long story short, it's going 2 1/2 weeks & nothing. I've had courteous dialog w/ the service department to no avail.
I can't tell you how frustrating this is. If I didn't have a spare auto I'd be up the creek w/o a vehicle as I am not eligible for a loaner.
Thanks for letting me vent.

I just had my CEL light com on too, I live in Newnan.
I have been to that Union city location three times and had issues each time. I will not return there.
If I was you i would try Hennessey Buckhead. I know i was given a loaner vehicle previously there.
The difference in customer service levels is huge!

Sounds like a dealer issue, not warranty issues. You didn't say why you weren't eligible for a loaner - I presume it's because you didn't buy the car from that dealer and they won't provide one. Check around. Both of my Jags were bought from out of state, but my local dealer has always provided a loaner. Likewise the dealer in PA I used once when I was on a road trip. Frankly, between COVID and BREXIT, I'm surprised there have been more delays for parts.

I've never had an issue getting a loaner from my local dealer even though I didn't buy the car from them. They're happy to provide one even for a routine annual service, and I have no doubts they would provide one for a longer repair.
As others have mentioned, go to a different dealer.

A good dealer wouldn’t care whether you’re eligible or not. My dealer still offers a loaner almost a year after the warranty expired. It’s in their interest for me to keep coming back to them.

From My Experience there I would 100% say its a dealer issue.

This has been a discussion in the past. Some dealers offer loaners, some don't. It's up to the individual franchise whether they do it or not.

As for the delay, yes it does suck but that's what the pandemic has done across the world. Everything is slower. Just be glad you didn't have this issue several months ago when the Jaguar factories were completely shut down.

And perhaps change the misleading thread title? This is not a warranty issue, it is a service delay issue and much of it may be entirely out of the hands of the dealer. We are so quick to ascribe blame, aren't we?

Hennessy Buckhead is not so great either, my go to dealer is Hennessy North Atlanta. Excellent service every single time and they give me a loaner even for a 2 hour service.

My Jaguar dealer used to be the only one in town and also did most of the service for even out of warranty Jaguars. It was for years small and respected operation. Then the new owners acquired it few years back, right around time Jaguar SUVs came out and started to drive volume. Things went downhill, as it went from well run small operation to badly run medium size operation. One of the first things they cut was loaners. Next they pushed out all the expensive but experienced techs. Next service manager left. Next they started renovating dealership building, let go of service advisers and replaced them with new people.

Few years later - second JLR opened in town, Jaguar independent garage grew from 2 stall 2 lift small shop to 5 stall 5 lifts shop and now has a waiting list. Original dealer was sold again, at a big loss from what I heard.

They are still trying to get my business back, even had an email from general manager asking what they can do to earn my business back. Why would I go back there? The independent garage has cool loaners, including old XJ, and some of the old-timer techs that used to work at the dealership.

Agreed, not a warranty issue, should have labeled Dealer Issue.
It took 5 days for the dealer to open the door & plug in the engine analyzer. That's with making an appointment!
I have talked to more than a few people about the Union City, GA service department & haven't heard much positive.
