Default Water in the boot/trunk lid

How does water get inside the boot/trunk lid? I lifted the lid yesterday and heard water sloshing.
I'm sure that is the cause for the wing to now not work. I am just not sure if it is a blown fuse or something wrong with the wing assembly itself.
I know there is a fuse in the right side footwell box. I have been looking online to try and figure out which it is. I have not been able to find it as yet.
Would someone please tell me which fuse it is?

I’ve had poor luck trying to find comprehensive lists of fuses in our cars. The wiring diagram shows the spoiler being powered via a 10A fuse in the CJB (passenger footwell) called “PF13”, not clear if this reference designator is useful.

Occasionally it can be something obvious so I’ll be that guy ;-0

You’re sure the drains in the door itself underneath the door spoiler is not obstructed, and/or the small drain hole on the car itself that they drain into?

I did probe those lid drains with a 12 inch long piece of trimmer line. No obstructions that I could feel. But how is water getting in the lid in the first place?

Hey man,

So here is a view of the same drain from the other side of the door under the spoiler…I just raise my spoiler and it’s right there, which I guess you are having some difficulty doing?…When you are washing your car water will be pouring in under the sides of the spoiler and going right to that drain…Certainly any that manages to get under…

Again, not sure if you have access to under the spoiler right now to look or not with the predicament you are in, but if anything is blocking the flow through there I could see a couple potential places maybe where water could be entering…Maybe where the hinge for the spoiler joins into the door or something…Just a thought…

Hmmm...Consider this quote in this link -->

"Water ingress traced to the tailgate seal and/or a failed gasket under the deployable spoiler leading to extensive electrical damage"

And perhaps look at this -->

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...-trunk-283033/

Do you have any water making its way into the actual trunk like is talked about here in this link...? They are talking about the spoiler not working here as well etc...

This sounds a lot like what you are describing too:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...nk-lid-232147/

I was actually going suggest the idea in here where they say consciously pour water through the drain, assuming you have access to get under the spoiler...

Final one for ya, that I had seen before:

This guy has a fixed spoiler related issue (worth a watch)...At minimum this video will make you appreciate the level of gunk that is able to collect in that spoiler area and potentially gunk up the drains:

I finally was able to check the fuse. It is still good. I pulled it and checked continuity across the prongs just to make sure.
Pushing the console button still only gets me the 'not available' message.
The wing is down so there isn't a chance of accessing anything underneath it.

Go here to see how I took the spoiler lid off from the closed position: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...2/#post1614196
I did it so as to permanently disable the spoiler by unplugging the electrical connection but of course you don't need to go that far if you don't want to.
One of those cross-hatched covers/plugs is conveniently shown in previous posts in this thread.

I see you have a coupe. Mine is a convertible.
Also, I'm stopped right at step 1. Step 1 - raise the spoiler.
I can't raise the spoiler. It stopped working in the lowered position.
