No not a flat battery or blown fuse, the trunk releases but occasionally does not raise, something is hanging it up, most of the time it opens fine but a couple of times it hasn't and it was a bit of a mess about closing / opening / pulling and prodding, any ideas?.

I think I will be attaching something to that emergency release though and bringing it forward to a place I can get at it after the horror's I have read here.

 

Is it a powered raise and close ?

 

Yes, it tries but something doesn't let go - the lid rises slightly, seems to pull to one side then stalls, after a while the system engages the soft close and the lid closes fully again.

 

I had some hesitancy with my XE when we had a cold snap, (5 degrees below zero centigrade). However it normally works OK.
