Default What is that sloshing sound?

Is that gas rolling around in the tank? I notice this low register slow sloshing sound when driving very slowly through parking lots/gas stations (either slightly on the gas or slightly on the breaks). Its sounds like water hitting the underneath of a small boat anchored in choppy water or a nearby car's subwoofer. I don't hear it all the time, but the first few times, it was almost startling. I assume it's the gas tank, but it sounds odd. ?

The early XF is/was notorious for "tank slosh", I had it on both my 2010 XFS and 2010 XFR.
It was a fair bit worse in the diesel XFS than it was in the petrol XFR, no idea why.
When the fuel tank got down to about 1/3 full the fuel would slosh back and forward as you accelerated or braked due to inadequate baffling in the fuel tank.
The official JLR fix was to shove some foam baffle material into the fuel tank.

Yeah, my first instinct was to ask if you have a 'vert as well. If that's the case, get those drain holes cleaned out immediately. Water back there will short out your motors quickly and it's an expensive repair.

Its also possible there is water in the door. I've heard of that on an unrelated car. Check the drain holes on the bottom of the doors too.

Brand new 2020 coupe. I think I’m losing it, it’s been a long pandemic.
