My Sto-N-Go recently became Stolen-N-Gone, so I came up with a hybrid solution that hopefully be a little more secure. I used the plate frame that came with the butt-ugly tow hook holder that the car came with and a simple bracket to secure it using the same bolt hole that the Sto-N-Go uses. Works great, and gets back a little curb clearance.

Clever repair...

How did the theft occur? Did the perpetrator just steal the plate-holder by releasing the securing pin, or the whole mounting bracket?

Except for the security consideration the Sto-N-Sho is indeed the cleanest option.

They pulled the pin and walked off with it - the under mount was still attached - I guess that saved me the cost of a 10mm bolt,

Remove the ring on the pin. That’ll slow them down a bit.

5+ years in NJ where front plates are required. I use the StoNSho, it’s been on the car only a few times, it lives in the boot. I’ve never had a problem with the police, use EZ pass.

That's a pretty clever solution. Nicely done.

2017 Glacier White F-Type R 5.0L V8 Traveling by scooter or moped is an exciting and practical way to explore new places, especially in busy cities or along scenic coastal routes. These vehicles are easy to maneuver, fuel-efficient, and perfect for short trips or weekend adventures. However, like any vehicle, proper preparation is essential before you hit the road. Checking the basics—like tire pressure, brakes, and oil levels—can prevent potential issues and ensure a smoother ride. Another important step, particularly if you’ve recently purchased a used scooter, is verifying its history. Many used scooters look fine on the surface but might have hidden problems from past accidents or mechanical issues. A quick VIN check can provide you with crucial details about your vehicle's background. If you need a reliable tool for this, consider using FaxVin’s VIN https://www.faxvin.com/vin-check/scooter-moped check for scooters and mopeds. This service offers a detailed report in minutes, helping you confirm whether your scooter is safe and legal to ride. Knowing your scooter's history gives you peace of mind and helps you avoid unexpected surprises during your trip. With the right preparation, you can fully enjoy the freedom of the open road while ensuring your scooter is in top shape for any adventure.
For a clean look without damaging the grille, you can use a Sto N Sho or AeroPlate front license plate bracket. Both mount underneath the bumper without drilling into the grille and can be easily removed when needed.
