Default Who has used 3rd party leases (non-JLR)?

I know JLR has some good rates on certain leases but they simply won't honor those rates with the discounted prices which means that a lease will cost an extra $10K to $15K depending on the vehicle. I am therefore trying to find out what 3rd-party leasing companies that will lease a vehicle at these lower acquisition costs.

I don't believe JLR does any financing. My recent lease was through Chase, arranged at the Jaguar dealer. And they did honor the quoted rates with a steep discount from MSRP.

Chase is the "captive" finance house for JLR. I believe some dealers also use US Bank as an alternative.

The problem I am running into is that JLR only offers 2 flavors:
- Buy X for $80K
- Lease the EXACT same X for $93K & then add on the leasing profit on top of that instead of on top of $80K. If I were to use the in-house leasing, they make $13K off a vehicle before their financing profit.

Certainly there are financing companies who mark up the $80K vehicle to $83K making $3K right up front and then they also make their percentage of the monthly profit as well. I am not expecting the leasing companies for offer the crazy .00001 money factors or anything like that. Just a "normal" lease

Some here have been able to do this but in most cases, they appear to have had direct relationships with the dealership (relative owns dealership type of things).

I heard this as well but when I go to the US Bank website, there are only "purchase" options. Nothing on there for leases.

Other leasing companies say that "they will find the car for your" so... don't bother telling them where to buy it from type of thing...

I don't think US Bank advertise it - you have to ask your favourite dealer if they also have an arrangement with US Bank....sorta Finance Club. First rule of Finance Club, don't talk about Finance Club ;-)

They don't offer leasing but they do offer some type of "balloon payment" that I would not be interested in

Found a company called "Autoflex Direct" that is running the numbers for me.

Have you checked with another Jaguar dealer? I got a large discount off MSRP and the published lease terms from Chase.

I'll be interested to hear what Autoflex offers. Always looking for options for future leases.

I think most of us can write off AutoFlex. It seems that they are used to writing leases for buyers who can't get financed otherwise. They were literally TWICE as expensive as JLR and basically said "Yeah, we can't touch that". So much for that effort.

We have found an identically configured R in different/better color combo. They want $78K to purchase & $95K for the lease so it comes to something like $950/month for 39 months & 10K miles/year. At this point, I am thinking we may just wait for a '16 R to come off lease and then negotiate a purchase.

This is the EXACT car I was trying to acquire from that dealership but the lease price is ...drumroll....
$97,500!!! and then they give you the subvented lease rates so they are essentially pulling $13K off the table on that particular vehicle. These are great deals IF you are purchasing instead of leasing.

You missed this one (it's the $78K w/o the Vision package that I referenced above & it's from that same dealer, Wilde)

Damn...at $78k just purchase it. The PenFed rates should come in close to the lease rates on something a bit higher, and you own something with equity at the end of the day.

Actually I didn't miss that one. I had already posted it in another thread, and was only posting cars here that had the Vision Package, as that was one of your requirements.

Stay patient in your search. There are many still unsold F-Types on dealers lot's that have not ever been listed on any of the common car sales websites. As time wears on, many of the more stubborn dealers will slowly come around and lower their prices on those cars to fit the current market price reality. Alas some will not, and that is why you still see many (new) 2016 MY cars on the lots. Those dealers will probably still have some 2017 MY cars around well into mid-2018.
Patience is a virtue, and it will reward you eventually. Good hunting with your ongoing pursuit of a great low-priced car!

I don't understand that. I just leased mine about three weeks ago and the lease price and purchase price had exactly the same substantial discount offered.

I'm not sure why the dealer cares whether you purchase it or whether Chase "purchases" it on your behalf.
