In my manual it simply has two arrows pointing to each of the lower corners of the control switch panel and implies you lever up from there.It is not that clear.
It simply says "remove panel".

IF you can get the leather cover lifted up it may not help much depending upon what you see with the foam. But you could possible lever the foam away to some extent to see down the side better without worrying about damage to the leather? This is all guesswork.

I would try a magnetic pick up with a flexible head. Yes it would stick to the track but also to the wrench which will come along with it. It it easily slipped in it should find it's way out. Don't get a pick up with a head that is too large, the circular ones seem best. Good luck

Seeing the back of the seat, I've always wondered what the purpose of the groove on the back of the headrest that mates with the car's hook serves?

As far as I can tell that groove is simply to allow the seat back to go all the way back without fouling on the hook.

 

So, what purpose does the hook serve?

(Don't tell me its sole purpose is to fit in the seat-back's groove!)

 

I use the hook on the passenger side for the dry cleaning. If you push the seat all the way back, you can even iron wrinkled shirts.

 

Yep, it's a clothes hook.
I sometimes hang my "Jaguar" jacket on it.

+1. MEM 3 for my passenger seat is full forward specifically for the purpose of using that hook.

 

My MEM 3 is with the passenger mirror dipped slightly for reversing - the auto dip goes down much too far and isn't adjustable.

Best practice seat positioning for transporting haberdashery. My cat is hibernating for the winter (snow came last week with the requisite salt and pea gravel), however, I now have reason besides pampering and checking the C-Tek to play with her.

I will now be able to transport dry cleaning and a jacket appropriately behind the passenger seat. I know I have hooks, never noticed the grooves. Love the detail and I love this place!

I was trying to help by showing an example of what the track COULD look like and I pointed that out since I felt the best way of tackling the issue at hand was to take out the bolts holding the tracks. Where are your helpful comments?
