2015 XF SC Brake Issues
Hopefully someone can explain this one because I am out of answers. I recently changed all four brakes on my XF SC. I purchased the factory pad replacement version from R1 concepts along with the anti-vibration clips and sensor replacements. The install went well but I have a couple of issues happening.
1. The “worn brake” message is still coming on despite installing the new sensors (correctly). I removed the wheels to double check the sensors and make sure the retainers and sensors had not moved and weren’t rubbing. Everything looked good and there were no worn spots or signs of rubbing on said sensors. I checked the plug-in connectors and everything is tight/locked securely in place. Nevertheless, my XF tells me my brakes are still worn. I’m baffled.
2. My front passenger wheel gets 4x the amount of brake dust than any of the other three wheels. It seems to be braking more on this wheel because I can hear it gripping the disk when on/off the brakes at low speed. The weird part is that the vehicle tracks perfectly straight when braking (at any speed)
One would assume that the front passenger would automatically be the culprit but the sensors are located on the front driver and rear passenger side. This particular problem is occurring on neither of these wheels.
Note: I used the Auto Zone #27111 caliper tool (previously recommended on this forum) to compress the pistons so I’m confident nothing was damaged
Note: I never released any fluid during the brake job so the system was not compromised and should not need to be bled.
Note: I went as far as disconnecting the negative on the battery for over a minute with the hopes that, after calibrating the parking brake (for a second time), that it would correct itself.
If anyone has some insight, I would be very appreciative. Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you saying you pushed fluid back into the system? Not a wise thing to do I’m afraid. This can send dirty fluid back into the ABS unit. When I was running my workshop I always had the techs release the bleed screws when depressing the pistons back into the calipers, no matter how pedestrian the car was.
Can’t help with the excessive dust on the pass side wheel. Are you sure that all the sensor wires are not compromised upstream?
