travturl, I would want to double check my schematics, but I would be looking at the ECM and making sure that is getting power. It is possible that having a bad ECM would kill power to the fuel pump relay and also not allow the coils to fire. You elude to the fact that the fuse box has power by saying that the fuses all seem to work. Otherwise, you may be looking at a duel issue, especially if this car has been sitting for a long, long time and not being run.

Too bad I still do not live in the area (used to live up near Rolling hills gold course in Bremerton). I would come down and give you some help figuring this out. I would say to work on getting fuel pressure to the fuel rail first with turning the key on. From there, you can see if you have pulses going to the fuel injectors. Then that really only leaves 1 problem which is the spark (making the assumption that the timing is still good as this can only really get messed up if someone got into the engine or the engine has tons of miles on it. Then you would be complaining about the motor sounding like someone put rocks in it.

Okay so I know that the relays on the right side by the headlight or the wheelchair washer fluid bottle I know all of those have power to have checked them with a multimeter there's 12 volts at the coils so I know that they're getting power but they're just not sparking when I turn the key on and turn the car over I know the fuel pump works cuz I can manually jump it and it turns on now I did open up the ECU and it was pretty freaking corroded in there as a connections where the ribbons are they were just disgusting so I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and it looks like it would be okay but when I put it back in it's still didn't do anything.

Travturl, I would say to try putting a bit of starter fluid in the intake and cranking the car over just to confirm no spark. I do not think you have a crankshaft sensor issue as the car would be able to overcome this by looking at the camshaft sensors (unless those are bad too, then you could have a crank/no start condition).

When you look at the coils, there appears to be a white wire with pink stripe and then another color wire. Measure this other wire as you are cranking. You should see the voltage start at 12 VDC with the engine not cranking and then drop slightly as the motor rolls. If it does not drop, then you can say that the ECM is not commanding the coils to fire. Kinda like you can put your multimeter cross the two wires for the fuel injectors. You should see 0 VDC with the engine still and then as you crank the engine, you should see it rise slightly (up to around 2 volts). If you see the voltage rise, then the fuel injectors are being commanded to open. If the voltage stays at 0, then they are not being triggered. This points back to the ECM as being the problem.

Okay my apologies I should have added this beginning of the thread I did squirt some starter fluid in the intake did nothing I then took spark plug out grounded it to a shocking extension not the valve cover because that's grounded and shielded so it wouldn't work anyways but no spark then I checked the voltage at the at the plugs there's 12 volts I didn't check it while it was cranking I'll go and do that next time I see the car cuz I'm not with it right now but I will let you know

Inertia cutoff switch would kill the fuel pump, but I believe it should still provide spark.

Do you know where this switch is? (passenger side door...)

Yes I checked the inertia switch it's not tripped I even jumpered it to make sure it was working properly and it does work That's not the issue

This is not gonna be a simple one....but I would get the old multimeter out and start from the coils and work backwards.

First thing first, check all the grounds at the ECU.

JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource

That website will get you to the wiring diagrams you'll need to find the disconnected wire(s)....

Now, enjoy the ride. Just avoid the Bremelos, Gorstagons, and the unwanted of "Poor Torchard". LMAO. Oh the days of living there and all the sailor stories. Granted, some of them are probably involving me in some way. Those were the days. If you can think back 20+ years, there used to be a lifted Ford Expedition that ran around those parts. That was mine. Always got a lot of looks. I think most people feared me driving over them.
