AFS light comes on intermittently

AFS light comes on intermittently
The AFS light comes on weekly or so, and can be fixed by slapping the headlights. How do I fix permanently..Jaguar garage suggesting replacing headlight(s)...but they are around £900 each. It is a 2010 XK Portfolio? Any help appreciated!
