Hello Forum, my first post here, trying to get help in solving a "weird" issue with my 1992 XJS V12 convertible.
The convertible top pump stopped working so I checked the whole hydraulic system located in the back and found a leaking pump and leaking cylinders.
Very little oil was left in the pump reservoir and there was a small puddle under the pump.
I took many pictures of the existing connections, oil hoses and electrical, mechanical fastening of the cylinders, etc. I wanted to be sure to re-install it correctly.
Ordered online 2 new cylinders, 1 liter of and a new oil seal for the pump. Received the parts and installed everything.
Now the pump works (even if is still has a very small and slow leak...) but it works in reverse. Basically when I push the button to put the top down, it goes up, and viceversa.
The problem is that when I pull the top up the quarter windows go down... it is not syncronized like before. So at night when I close the top the 2 small windows stay open and
that's no good. I checked all connections many times, and compared to the pictures everything seems exactly as it was. The problem seems electrical but all male/female jacks
can only be plugged in one way, so you cannot do it wrong. I'm at a loss...
I would appreciate any suggestion...
