Default Help with door dents.

Hey. Anyone have tips or tricks on how to remove door dings (dents) from the doors? Like the lil dents you get when the ******* next to your parked car opens their door into yours?
thanks.

Um, I have found that an ounce of prevention etc., as in, I Always park my Jag FAAAAAR away from ALLL other cars in the lot. Out in the West 40 as it were.

I know that doesn't help with the dents you already have, but you could contact a local paintless body repair shop. They might have a trick or two to at least minimize those door dings.

If you have infra red lamps, you can try pointing them at the dents for a little bit. If there not to severe the heat will make them pop right out. Just keep an eye on it and don't overheat the area.

Good question.

I've moved it from Off Topic to General Tech Help and left a permanent redirect so it appears in both forums.

I'm interested to hear of skills and techniques other than resorting to a PDR technician.

thank you. I’ve seen a few things on YouTube involving heat guns, boiling water, and suction cups. I may try it myself today. Will def report back.

I have removed small and large dents,as long as there is no crease in the dent.
If you have an outboard boat motor you know what the ear, water muffs are that you connect a water hose to so you can run the motor. Anyway take the rubber cup that does not have the hole in it off, wet it put it on the dent and grab the nipple with vise grips as the suction is really very, very strong and pull. After you pop the dent out you may have to free the cup by lifting the edge of the rubber cup.

I have not seen a dent yet that it wont remove, big or small.
Can be bought at wal-mart or boat supply store, cheap.
