Default Horn Problems

The horn on the 86 Jaguar XJ6 is not working. I think it is the relay but not sure. I did a direct connect from the battery to the horn and it blows. Help?!??!?

Just hope that the fault is NOT in the steering column. The repair parts have not been available since the late 1980s (complete columns only). The nylon shear plug can be damaged and it is a safety component (collapsing column) so Jaguar stopped selling column parts.

The brass ring, wiper and plastic insulators can break and stop the horn from working.

Thanks guys! I don't think (and hope) the problem is in the steering wheel but I will reply tonight about what I found! Thanks again!
