Default Locked out jaguar xf 2016 3 ltr diesel

Help please Jaguar xf refuses to open, suspect flat battery, key fobs do not work also mechanical key does not unlock the door just sounds the alarm (until back up battery became flat). Looking like will have to smash the driver door window unless any one knows a way to open the car.

Welcome to the forums Smerlin,

I would avoid breaking a window. JLR parts supply chain is getting worse and, when you get a replacement, fitting a door glass will be very expensive. There's a lot of disassembly/reassembly involved.

The emergency key blade operates the lock manually via a cable - it doesn't rely on electrics.

I had to use this entry method a few times on my last XK. You should be able to feel the cable movement as you rotate the emergency key and then pull the door handle. It always triggers the alarm as soon as the door is opened but "docking" the smartkey then stops the alarm.

The XK has external positive and negative connection studs to get some juice into a flat battery - sufficient to open the vehicle. X260 is very likely to be similar and members in our X260 forum will be able to advise if and where such studs are to be found.

Yes avoid breaking stuff! If Graham suggestions don't work.
Any mobile lock smith can get your car open in seconds. It worth the money!
The little air bag they use is pretty cool too!

I have tried the AA and mobile locksmiths none of which could gain entry. Graham the emergency key refused to unlock the car. Does any one know if there are any external battery terminals behind the front wheel arch cover as on other models.

Still locked out looking like I'm going to need a new glass.

I've done a lengthy search of posts on this and other forums for X260 owners in the same situation and come up with nothing. It looks like the only boost connection points are in the engine compartment.

How about crawling under and connect to the + at the starter?
- at the chassis?
