Default Mitchell's DIY Product is kinda of a bargain now

Just wanted to pass this tidbit along for those that haven't looked in a while. I have some larger projects coming up on my XJL and though I have many PDF manuals, I find the navigation and search to be absolutely horrid, though AI can be leveraged to help with some of it. I was taking a look at Topix trying to justify the cost once again and while I do appreciate the fact that we are even "allowed" the dealer systems access, it is, as you know quite expensive. There is a case to be made for someone doing a lot of work; however, it is still tough. I mean a year's subscription is still easily cheaper than a single dealer visit.

It struck me to take a look at Mitchell1. I have only ever used AllDataDIY in the past (which IMO is kinda not great and I think even worse now with Autozone). I saw that the price for 4 years with Mitchell's DIY product is only $59, so I went ahead and paid the entry fee and folks, I gotta say it is really decent. By and large it has most (though not all) of the info that I have in my manuals, but the navigation and searching blows an 8k page PDF out of the water and at $59 for 4 years access, it seems a no brainer to use at least as a first source of info. If it isn't here, then I can revert to the PDF, but it is worth a look if you haven't ever or haven't recently. Note, I am in no way affiliated with Mitchell Just thought it is useful enough to share.

Used to use ProDemand when I was in the firestone world, yes it's much more user friendly than Topix in general, and topix sucks if you have to search it all as a PDF anyway.

If you need something specific from topix let me know, i'll supply it if I can.

Right on, so far I have been able to find most of what I need without Topix, but that can change as my stable grows, for sure! And yeah, that is my logic. One hour of my time is worth more than $59, so if it saves me even an hour of searching in the next 4 years, it will have been a very wise investment.
