I've got a lovely 2004 XKR but it has the olde fashionde NAVTEQ/Alpine satnav. I've got the UK/Ireland DVD but can't find the Europe one anywhere. Does anyone have a 'backup' copy??

Are you sure it only has UK/Ireland ? The one I bought last year as an update included all of Europe. In fact a map of Europe is displayed when one wants to set up a route. BTW, my new disc was not cheap !!

It has 'major towns' in Europe but no detail (street maps etc.). Is your udate for an Alpine/NAVTEQ system? Where did you get it? I thought this system was dead and no longer supported.

Well, I actually got it from Royles, the main agent in Wilmslow, but the Navteq website has them for sale. Not cheap, mind you. My car is an X350 (XJ6). I looked on the Navteq website and your 2004 XK is not listed, but there are others offering updates, and much cheaper too.

Yes, I looked on their website and the XKR wasn't listed as you say. I'll do some Googling (unless you have a URL of a cheapo site)

Hi steveinfrance,
Did you ever find an update for your Alpine/NAVTEQ system ?
I have an 2001 XKR and it comes with UK and Ireland only. I'd like to have some western europe maps, even if not the latest.
Thanks in advance
