I did a search both here and on google. I have on offline version of SDD and attempted to run it today. No Internet connection on my machine. I'm using date 4/2016. When I launched the software I got the message VCM software update required. Then the system attempts to update and fails (no internet connection. Does anyone know how I can resolve this? Can I obtain the VCM software somewhere? Any advice is appreciated.

 

The update is NOT internet but software driven.
Everytime the VCM is connected to a different computer, the VCM needs to be configured to THAT computer.
Move it to another and it will need the software to configure it that computer.

I have two XP Pro 32 bit old Dell C640s and if I swap the VCM to the 'other' one, I go through the process.
I just 'tick' YES and wait for it to finish.

The VCM updated. My mistake in the version I had on the hard drive. It is 145.2. Anyway, SDD launched but won't capture the as built file.
IDS wants a password I don't have. I'm installing another hard drive with v 131.6 which runs on XP

I'm using a Dell Latitude D830 and can run 118 and 125 on it which run on Windows 7 fine. I'm swapping out hard drives, not changing laptops. These are all fresh installs of OS and SDD.

 

Both 145 and 131 have seed codes and I don't have passwords for them. The one below is from 131. I have login and password but it doesn't give me a chance to login with a seed code:

 

IDS 118.5 SHOULD be good to 2009MY cars. The IDS might not have the latest software for modules like reconfigures for ECM or TCM but IDS was probably version DVD 105 to 108 when the 2007MY was built.(DVD 42,43,101,102 were all issued in 2006 when I quit the dealer)

SDD was not even issued until 2009 so IDS should work for what you need to do.
