Default Ownership day three - Dead key fob, no start.

Hi there! Cross posting to the general forum.

On day three of Jaguar ownership and I've hit a snag.
Replaced the smart key battery for my 2012 XKR-S after seeing smart key battery low warning.
Using a panasonic 2032 battery cell. Opened key, replace battery, closed back up, test with car. Nothing. Smart key not found.

Okay, check in smart key dock just to make sure the car still fires up. No crank, smart key not found. WTF.

Open key, double check polarity, contacts etc. All good.
Retry, same results.

Any ideas? I thought the smart key dock would be the fail safe, but that isn't working for me either.
Help!

Sounds like you have tried the obvious related to the key-fob.
Are you using the key-fob for the correct vehicle?
Is the vehicle battery up to snuff? 12V or more?
If so, try disconnecting the battery. touch the disconnected battery leads together briefly.
Then reconnect and re-try.
Do you have a second key-fob to try?
If not, looks like you will require a reset/reprogram of the fob.
Locksmith, dealer or friend with IDS/SDD.
Where are you located?
