Default Wind Shield, help!? :}

Hey there fellow Jaguarnauts,

My 2002 x type was slightly damaged in a garage fire so I am parting out what parts are still in great/good condition. I have someone coming to purchase the windshield and a few other components from me this evening, but I am unsure about pulling that glass out. (Rain sensor, non heated,...) Can someone PLEASE instruct me on how to properly remove that darn thing.? The windshield, the finishers surrounding it on the out side of the glass, and the sensors etc.? I would very much appreciate it!!

Thank you very much! ;]

Welcome to the forum Jen,

The glass is bonded to the body aperture. There is a special air powered cutting tool for the adhesive but it can be cut through with a cheese wire.

Preparation involves removing:
1. sun visors
2. cowl vent screen cover
3. interior mirror
4. disconnect electrical connectors
5. left and right "A" pillar exterior trims

It's a difficult job (the glass is usually only removed to replace a cracked or damaged one) and VERY easy to break the glass.

Graham
