Default XJ8 Transmission into XK8

Greetings Everyone,

First of all thanks to all who have been helping me out in my posts regarding my newly purchased 2000 XK8's gearbox failure. After everything, I'm going to need either a rebuild or new gearbox. I happen to have a once in a life time deal for a working gearbox out of a 2000 XJ XJ8 with 29,000 miles. A rebuild is going to cost no less than $1500, without the drop and install (and thats a hell of a deal!), which would bring it to $2000 to $2500. Since I just obtained the car a few weeks ago, I'm not in a healthy financial situation to go to hit those numbers, although I will be either selling the current one (needs the A-Drum) or rebuilding it later and holding or selling it. Therefore, in order to get the car back on the road, I have opted for the used gearbox.

Question is: Will the gearbox out of an XJ XJ8 fit my XK8 (they are both 2000 models)??? And, with only 29K miles, should I even bother changing out the ZF fluid if it's intact??

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I need to take advantage of this deal by end of day, Saturday. Thanks!!!!

Any ZF 5HP24 from a 4.0 XJ/XK will fit any Normally Aspirated 4.0 XJ/XK.
I have replaced a 2000 MY XJ with a 1998 XJ and it worked fine.
