I'm going to guess the First Editions which are very limited in their options, will be produced first. Like some other companies do with 'quick order combos'. Our CT6 Platinum is like that. Very few options.

It's sort of a generic build. I doubt too many folk are going to pay for a different color since the Photon Red is free and exclusive and the gray and black options cost more. 3 colors total.
Then you can choose only 2 interior colors, light and dark. 4 options total, headliner and seats are split options.
Finally you can choose only 1 kind of optional wheel/tire setup.

So there are 24 possible FE builds. There are literally hundreds of possible builds for the other versions.

 

We'll see if I regret not getting a First Edition. I could have gone with the gray but really wanted the cold pack, wife wanted blue, and I wanted the black wheels. But you are likely right, however you did have a lower order date as well (which is annoying because I started trying to get my order in right after the LA launch). Oh well, it is only a couple weeks...
