Default Long stroke crank for AJ8 AJ26/AJ27 etc

Good evening,
like i said atm im searching for a long stroke crank for the AJ8 engine.
The only offer i get until now is from Arden ( the said its a custom forged crank and includes forged rods) Price is 3900,- € exkl TAX
I think it has 95mm stroke but i dont have any fruther informations about it.

So maybe some of you know we could also get a custom made crank maybe billet?

If you have some info put it in here.

Best regards
Maxi

PS: Infos about well made Rods and Pistons also gladly seen

Try this link they make a kit for the Jags. I think they may also supply Arden. Farndon - World class racing, OEM crankshaft and engine component manufacturer

About a year ago, I researched having a custom stroked forged crank made for an AJ33 / AJ34 engine. I found several USA based companies that would be happu to mkae a forged crank. Quotes were around $3500 SD.
If you take a look at the AV-V8 casting, you will find that there isn't room to stroke the crank before hitting the side of the block. 95.6 is about the max you can go (versus stock 90.3 stroke) Then you have to get custom rods as well, another $2K USD.
Easier to bore out the block to get added displacement.

Good luck.

Thanks for your input!
Could you name these companies?
If you dont want to name them, could you send me a pm?

Just for the info, the block also get new sleeves, pistons, rods, vales, bearings, heads get completley reworked etc.

The main point is that the engine or better said the whole car must withstand high speed turns over let's say 100 km and more, not just short bursts.

I'm pretty sure cooling will became a serious issue.

Best regards from sunny Munich!

Why not go for Ardens set, its 3.900 euros (+VAT) for the crank, rods and bearings.

Simply because i want better rods, Arden just offers a Set incl the rods...

The infos i got from Arden are not so much and i'm pretty sure they don't spend much money for their rods.

I don't want to fit average quality parts inside my engine and lose all the money because i was to parsimonious to spend 2k more for better quality.

Andre, if you already have the Arden Set could you show us a bit of it?

The rods are made by Arrow and they are H-beam rods. Arrow makes rods also for F1 and Nascar. You hardly find higher quality rods from any manufacturer.

@Maxville,

Why do you think stock or Ardens rods would not be up to the job?

First of all, thanks a lot for the pictures Sami, i really appreciate this!

Andre, the reason i think the stock parts would't handle let's say 800+hp is that every company looking for the cheapest working part for their solution. And that's more then 200% of the stock power output.

Pending on the infos XJR-99 provided it's maybe worth for trying the Arden kit in it's deliverd form.

Please don't get me wrong, i really really appreciate every Info i could get, especially the high quality ones i get from you!

Just for the case i could help with some Info you need, i have completley knocked down 4.2 engine and some other trash. So dont hesitate and please just ask!

Thanks a lot guys! Best regards from Munich
Maxi

Well, 800 hp isn' t what you mentioned before, then I would also be more careful especially if you race it for long stretches.

How do you want to achieve 800hp?
