Default Need help installing an alcohol injection system....

Hi guys. I'm determined to get this right!

I tried to install an alcohol injection system a while back but it doesn't seem to be working. First of all, it's been over 10k miles and I haven't got the low windshield wiper fluid indicator coming on.

I have a maf based kit from snow. I hooked the trigger wire to the maf and I wired the power wires through the fuse box. I thought I tested which ones were hot at key on and added a mini fuse with a power wire to the alcohol injection unit.

How are you guys wiring yours up? Any advice or wire colors for the maf would help! Thanks!

Anytime I have hooked them up, the trigger has all ways been hooked up to the manifold cause they activate on boost? a pressure switch so you can adjust when it kicks in. Maybe the kit is different now days. Paul

Yeah they use a wire that hooks to the mass air meter sensor so that the kit turns on faster on quick boosting cars like ours.

What have you set the controller to both for start & full load? I am having an issue with mine as well.

I'll check when I get home tonight. If I recall I had it coming on at about 5 psi and full at 12-15psi.

I think I'll try to test it by turning both to their minimum settings and running around the block with the nozzle into a jug in the car...

do you have a light that comes on when pump is activated, mine was working great then stopped ,,a plugged nozzle, OK now but be aware of nozzle clogging.

I have a light that comes on when the pump is activated. I reset my controller to come on at a lower voltage & peak sooner. The system seems to be much better.

I'll check the nozzle. I don't have the indicator light because I didn't want to mess w the dash at all. Perhaps I should have though...

Hi guys. I spent some time working on this over the weekend. My voltmeter thing had a dead battery, so I just did what I could.

I played with the wires so that I could run the pump on demand while testing. I found that the one way check valve wasn't working and was letting air into the lines which caused there to be no flow. I got that fixed now.

The other issue I have is that the controller isn't getting voltage across the trigger wire. I turned the dials all the way down and then did some tests with the hose pointed out to spray onto the hood. After several full throttle runs, the hood was dry; the system wasn't turning on. I'm thinking that maybe I patched into the wrong wire on the maf. I'm going to have to get some new batteries for my test equipment and see what's going on with the wire that I tapped into.

On the maf, do you guys know what wire I'm supposed to tap into? I believe that there should be one that goes from 0-5 volts but I don't know which one it is.

Have you had any luck? I am looking at adding one soon.

the fuse was blown so I replaced it today. I had too small of one in there (15amp). I replaced it with a 20. I haven't driven the car yet but I should take it out tomorrow. The real indicator will be how it works in the heat this summer.

BTW, I have the start voltage at about 2.8 and the full at about 4-4.25
