i just purchased a 2002 jag s-type 4.0 sport i am looking for some upgrades for increase of horse power acceleration handling etc. i was thinking a throttle body spacer mino air intake koni shocks etc. tell me about what you did to your jag or just some general suggestions.i plan on taking names at st.pete speedway when im finished!

 

Is your S-type supercharged? If not, you're not gonna take many names.

 

yes it is the R version

 

You can port the supercharger, get upgraded pulleys, ECU, drop in K&N filters and redo your exhaust. You could get near 500hp.

It is NOT the "R" version. they did not put the SuperCharger in S-type until 2003, of which this fella does not own in that he has a 2002. He has the 4.0 Sport.

The 2003 R was the test vehicle for the 04 XJR.
I bought the S-Type R 2003 Black on Black with Black Maple 4.2 liter SC in May 03, one of 2,490 made in entire year. I had every option available. I stole it off the lot for 58grand and bought the entended warranty for it and replaced a ton of stuff, best 2,800 bucks i ever spent, I even had the 800.00 wheel warranty that covered tires and rims till 75,000, the rims on those cars are junk, replaced all four of them 2 times each and the front left 3 times at NO cost. I sold it last July for 10grand, it had 157,000 miles on it, It looked brand new and ran brand new. everything wored I easily spent $30,000 dollar in maintaining it. The car was a beast, i had a smaller pulley, exhaust, coldair that I piped in for the wheel well and that was it. The car actually went 156mph. but the REAL Gitty Up was between 40-130mph, a rocket.
