I just got mine back from Maxbore.com and it was bored to 82.5mm, so about 21% more surface area than stock. It was only $150 and you know it will bolt on and work.

Depending on what you are planning, 82.5mm may not be your bottleneck anymore...

I think there is only one person who knows, and I don't think he is going to tell.

I am thinking you could probably find something that worked if you do some research using ford part numbers, but you would be on your own to test. Maybe an aftermarket upgrade for a mustang or maybe a lightning?

I worked in the auto industry for quite a while, it is common for manufactures to use the same part over and over again with slight changes to the part and possibly part number. Not sure how true it is with ford throttle body's. If you could find a guide that tells what the numbers mean.

For instance the number on my throttle body is xw93-9e926-bb. I have already searched google for 9e926 and came up with some info. Will search more when I have time.

Now why is that?

In another post I already mentioned that the benifits for an eaton setup would not outway the costs for a 90mm TB, electronics needed and making a new flange to the intake elbow.

The boring out option is the best choice in gains/costs for the eaton, and I have provided this info and company who can do it.

I think what he was saying was that you (AVOS) were not going to give the information about where to get a 90 mm TB, which, may I point out, you have not (for the 90+mm)

I do not think you are obligated, however, to just give your hard earned trade secrets away, given you had to put in much effort, time, and money to learn these things for the first time on these cars. You made the effort, did much of the pioneering, got it to work, so you do deserve the credit, and some profit (or at least something for getting your investment back) for your efforts.

But to be clear, "ECW's" statement is still holding to be true, you are not likely to give your sources / information away, unless someone buys your complete Twin Screw kit.

Baloo,

If you PM me directly, I can help you find a way to get much more air in and out of the eaton/ enough to effectively maximize to what I think the limits of the eaton are (I believe there is still 100 HP over stock available to be had in these engines while still retaining a 5th gen eaton) The 5th gen has better bearings and is more efficient than previous versions.

As AVOS said, everything costs, and cost per HP is what it comes down to, so if you want to go max power, you will need a much more efficient blower, and the eaton is not it. Nothing compares to the Ken Bell twin screw, nothing....

...but if you want to go from 370 to say 470 hp most economically, then I think we are then on the same page and I can help you. You are only about 5-6 hours drive from me. I would be happy to share with you the benefits of my experience if you reciprocate.

p.s. ECW, if you do find more info on 90mm TBs, please p.m. me

Do some googling, there are plenty makes with 90mm TBs, but I never found one myself that was a straight fit with regards to electronics, so you can pick any basicaly, there you go.

MaxBore is a great source. They bored my XK throttle body and returned it within a week for about $100. While a 90mm throttle body seems to be a noble project, it will be expensive. It is still worthwhile to bore your OEM throttle body first.
I would talk to George at MaxBore to determine the feasibility of grafting the electronic control of your OEM throttle body to an aftermarket 90mm.
Incidentally, a bored throttle body provides a nice power increase for a normally asperated Jaguar without a decrease in gas mileage.
