Default XK6 3.4 shim replacement question

Good Morning,
First post to this form so please go easy on me!

We have a 3.4 XK6 engine that was built by VSE to fast road spec over 12 years ago, specifically it's a 3.4 XK120 Engine built to VS01 spec. It's become a little tappety of late and we'd like to check the shims and replace if necessary. Being reasonably competent with a spanner and wanting to get to know the engine better, we'd like to do this ourselves but fully appreciate to do this means we need to go inside the tappet buckets and to do that we need to take the camshafts out and move the timing chain out of the way!

So this is a long way of saying, does anyone know of a decent manual that can help us along our way? I've done a trawl of the internet and found some information but nothing that goes to the detail we need!

Any help will be hugely appreciated.

Regards
