I can't make this work - if I download an attachment, the copy and paste its address using the 'Mountain' I get both a big picture and a thumbnail of the attachment.
If I go back into edit and remove the attachment that seems to delete the URL of the image - although this method worked in 'count to 10,000 in pictures'
What am I doing wrong?

The 10,000 pics, is mostly hot linking from the web. So the image is not uploaded to the forum but linked to.

From your PC, you have uploaded to the forum.

Like the purple cow BTW.

Steve,

Did you manage to make the big image of the purple cow work yourself or was it some stealth performed by Richard?

I've tried all combinations of insert / mountain / cut&paste and cannot get a full size image from a JPG stored on my PC.

Graham,
What I did was to go into advanced, manage attachments, downloaded my jpeg as an attachment then when it had uploaded R click on the filename and select 'Copy URL' - the file actually gets stored in JF.
Then get to the Mountain and do a Ctrl-V to paste the file's URL and that's it.
What you can't then do is go back into 'manage attachments' and remove the attached file - that deletes the JF URL so you have to put up with having an attachment icon.
Does that make sense?
I think if you copy + paste this URL into the Mountain you'll get the Purple Cow in your post

Let's give it a go:

Splendid. All I have to do from now on is make sure all my posts incorporate the words 'purple cow' in the text.

Success! Thanks Steve.

Seriously weird. What happens if you paste the link to it into the 'Mountain' ?
Have you consumed the required bottle + half of Bordeaux?

Right clicking of the above purple cow and then copying the image address into the Mountain produces this.

(and no I have not gone into Stealth mode) LOL

It's only lunchtime Steve, and they're not so relaxed here as the French are!

Maybe we need this guy...

arlandgreen's Uploads on Photobucket.com

This is the photo bucket url for my pix. When I try to type anything below the picture the 4 sites you show are grayed out and I can't paste the url in between the img's. Any advice?

Arland,

One of your pics added to your post. To do this, I:

1. opened your photobucket link
2. selected the pic
3. right click - copy
4. open you post to edit
5. paste the pic

Give it a try.

arland, instead of copying the thumbnail pic.

1) mouse over thumbnail (in your photobucket acct.), you will see "IMG Code", left click the image code in the rectangle (it will automatically save).

2) go to the thread you want to inset pic, right click and "paste"

3) the code NOT picture appears, while typing post, continue typing post under code. Press "Preview Post" before posting to thread and the majic happens. Name: SDC12678.jpg
Views: 736
Size: 158.8 KB

4) press "Post Thread"

5) very nice pic thank you for sharing

6) hope this helps!

Or, you can hover your mouse over a pic, the "share" box will allear below it, click on the "direct link" section it will automatically copy and you will see the link in the box change to "copied" then click in the yellow mountain box at the top of the reply windo here and paste (CTRL + V) into the box that opens up and you're done.
