Hopefully this will continue to be the trend

Let's hope so :-) Even though I don't contribute all that often, this is a really easy going place to be!
At risk of sounding like I'm 'brown nosing' well done to all the guys behind the scenes :-)

I got something JUST for 06...lol. jk

Anyway, it's nice to see the numbers trimmed to those who actually contribute versus a gaggle of 1 and 2 post wonders and spammers. Great job, guys!!!

OK....So I know we've drastically reduced the numbers ( dead wood ) from 29,000 to a little over 6,600 BUT just checked and see as follows.....

Most members online has jumped from- 447, 12-15-2009 at 06:36 PM.

To - 1,252 on 22/12/09 at 12.56am

As of 23/12/09 50 members and 1184 guests online, so the numbers are deffo going the right way

I'm hoping that some of this has been an effect of the recent mailings we've done, but, we'll see.
I have a nasty sneaky suspicion that we may be in for some sort of SPAM attack.....lets all watch this space!

Good news in general Jim.

I would have thought that it is inevitable that with the reminder emails, you will have awoken some of the dormant spammers within the remaining membership.

Can't see how that could have been prevented, but with you and the team remaining vigilant they won't be active for long.

Keep up the good work, and be prepared to ride out the storm. (like as not, you will see a host of activity from the 24th, when the Eastern Europeans celebrate Christmas), hope I am wrong.

Heh heh, just noticed that you have also been hit with the 'double post' syndrome, thought it was just me;-)

Happy Christmas to all.

I totally agree with that. This is a nice place to be, well done Jim!

By the way, the fleece Jim means is that you will be fleeced by the forum. But the good thing is this one does not ask for donations as some of them do.

Translator, there are a few gremlins in the forum as I have been having difficulty posting, it locks up so I have to come out and start again and hope it does not h

Thanks guys, much appreciated

I'd just like to say a very big thank you to Caddie, Thermo and H20boy who, as part of the mod team also play a big part in the upkeep of the site.

Your tireless efforts are much appreciated by myself and the members

Hmmm I think you may be right translator....
Unbelievable numbers coming through and if even a relatively small percentage are genuine it could really boost the site!

as of 23/12/09 please see as follows
most ever users online 1874
As of 2.44am UK time 24/12/09 47 members and 1579 guests

I'm hoping that soon these numbers will start to increase as far as members are concerned. No major increase in spam as yet as far as I can see, although approx 70 - 100+ are awaiting email confirmation on a daily basis. Unfortunately sifting through these most seem like spammers in the making if their username / email address is anything to go by!
