Unhappy Can't stay logged on

I log with my name and password, go the bottom of the page, and its says I'm not logged on. I also tried "remember me" and I still can't stay logged on.
Please fix this. It's very frustrating.

What web browser are you using?

Delete all of your cookies, temporary internet files, etc. Then try again.

Devon, also, if you have the cookie deletion turned on for your computer, you need to put in an exception for this site. The site saves your log in information in a cookie and when you go from page to page, depending on how your cookie deletion program is set up, it can delete the cookie, there by logging you out of the site.

And, navigate forwards, rather than backwards, by using the Forum Jump drop down box at the bottom of the page. This seems to help.

But as Thermo says you do need to set your browser to "Accept Temp Cookies" from this site. They will be cleared when you log out.

I noticed this too... but it only started at of Tuesday for me. I assumed it was something with the connection at my family's house while I am on Xmas vacation, nothing else about the way I browse has changed.

I stand to be corrected, but it would appear that with the phenomenal user figures that are being displayed, the 'Robots' are busy. (busiest ever day Yesterday, Impossible!)

This does not mean that we have 'real' enthusiasts, but do have a bombardement of Cyber attacks.

The problem here, is that the forum servers do not seem to have the capacity to filter and proccess all the requests being made of them, and therefore thus reject your one request when compared to the 50 from some idiot.

I do not speak for the Admin or Mod team, but rest assured I also suffer from this problem.

And will do everything I can to prevent it.

This is a 'Great Ressource' not only proven for it's technical ability, but possibly more important, for the community that it creates.

So Stimpy and others, If you see, or have a problem, do not hesitate to report it. At least then, the guys have a chance of sorting it.

Hope I am not treading on toes here.

Cheers,

Translator, you mirror my thoughts exactly. I too find it unbelievable that we have gonefrom 200 - 300 guests, maybe a little more to anywhere between 1500 - 2000 almost overnight
Having had a clear out of all non user members and reviewed banned members as well as deleting so many that were clogging up the site, it almost seemed that we were winning the battle......only to find this new potential attack by "guest" members

I have brought it to the attention of the site owners to see what we may be able to do about it, and will obviously post up what comes of this.

I've also noticed a rise in new members ( who do not post ) sending unsolicited pm's to members some of which seem to be from admin ( which they are not! )
I'm hoping to put something in place which means that new members must have a post count of 10 or above before they can send pm's to try and limit this activity.

Never ending...

I beleive that this website is owned by the same company as a popular Corvette discussion forum I belong to. This latter has been under cyber attack for some weeks, possibly this hacking has spilled over in some ways to this site.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies on this topic.
I know its been difficult recently and had more than a few pm's about it myself.
I can only assume to date its to do with the silly numbers we've been experiencing on the site....nearly 2000 guests at one point to 50 members with 198 people viewing on section alone.
Spammers / bots at work I think.

Please bear with us while we try to find a resolution to this for everyones benefit. We wil do our best!

Thanks

STYPE, I also have this problem. First, check that your browser is set to accept cookies for this site. They will be cleared when you log out.

And click the remember me button when you log on.

Also do not use your back button for navigation, but use the forum jump button at the bottom of the page.

This has helped me.
