+1

Many of the newbies have posted back in their Intro's thanking everyone for the 'welcomes'.

This is a big change from the time when several used to ask the question "does anyone read these?"

Yes Graham, for sure......

I'm hoping that some of the other veteran members / senior members, or perhaps even newbies take up the cause somewhat.

It makes such a difference to "feel" welcomed and part of the family from the get go

Perhaps Jim, some of us joined for Jaguars cars and not Audi . Can you not see how off-putting this is to keep thrusting your Audi in front of the membership.

Michael - can't say I'm impressed with your comments or atttiude, being simply honest and to the point.

Yes we are a Jaguar forum, at least thats our main focus, however.....

Almost every member here has either had at some stage or has at least one, in some cases several other vehicles, which they pride themselves on also.

We have members with Land Rovers, Miata's, Corvettes, Porsches, BMW's and many many more.
Everyone here is free as am I to post about their cars into the other vehicles section etc with no issues.

Although a Jaguar forum, we pride ourselves on being a car enthusiasts site, and no one here will be slated for other vehicles they may own or drive, its not our way.

As a member here of over 8 years, around 6 or more of which I didn't even own a Jag I feel I've contributed way more to this forum than you have, thats for sure.

I've also had reports of some of your other posts, containing sharp comments, harsh remarks or abrasive in style to say the least.

That attitude isn't welcome here, period!

If you don't like Audi's or BMW's, Porsches etc then don't look, its that simple, dont berate others for their choices.

This is a free forum, and you have the freedom to use it currently. You also have the same freedom to leave if its not to your taste.
However, if you continue to upset others as I have seen in your 39 posts made since July 2012 that option may be removed from you.

Please enjoy the forum

Yes! Sometimes when someone ask for help, and they don't reply with a thanks. I get that feeling often.

(I work 12 hour shifts)When I have days off I welcome members when I have toast in the morning and when "her indoors" is prepping dinner. I read as many posts as possible and try to add to the "off topic" threads as time allows just to keep a toe in the water ,so to speak. And chat to the Mods.
I do not add to posts often where my input is useless, unless I
can add something funny(IMHO).

But dudes like Michel Prichard, your tripe and nagativity is not required.
We are all here for a good time(and hopefully a long time)

Not sure he meant it badly? I think it was meant in an ironic sort of way but didn't come off very well. The post maybe lacked a smiley or two.

Failing that, the next best response is:

Best wishes, Colin

Hi all,
please see below some forum stats that I hope you will find interesting....

We're seeing growth here at JF

The start of summer always results in a small downward trend of traffic and activity month over month, but if you compare this past June to June of 2013, Jaguar Forums has seen large gains. Posts are up by 30%, thread creation rose by 28%, and registrations increased by 65%. On the traffic side, total visits to the site grew by 12% and search referrals are up by 29%.
some fantastic growth ......

The increase in registrations actually brings up a good point about new members. The entire JF team do a great job of reaching out to new members as soon as they post, this aided by the Regional Coordinators and some great veteran members paying it forward too.

We recently saw some industry-wide stats that show just how much of a difference that can make. As you can imagine, the sooner a community responds to a new member, the more likely they are to retain that person.

The above is mostly down to you guys and the time you take to make new members feel welcome and at home here. I'd just like to say a huge "thank you" once again for all you do.

All my best
Jim

Onwards and upwards Jim. Some really encouraging stats there and hopefully they will continue to get better.

After all, it is a team effort and when we all do our bit, anything is possible.:

The more I do, to try to do my bit online here, the more I find I can do that I didn't think I could manage (try saying that without taking a breath somewhere in the middle..)
Unfortunately I have tried applying the same technique to doing car repairs and maintenance to no avail but thankfully my car has withstood my efforts so far :-)

Steve,

I'm pleased to see in your latest SigPic the snow has finally melted in Crawley although that now looks suspiciously like ice on the windscreen.

lol - early morning dew .. doesn't look quite the same on a car as it does on a scantily dressed girl though :-) I *did* mean to get my photos the day I did my brakes and the wash and wax.. but ended up taking the photos the next morning... Hopefully in a few months I'll have some more snow pictures to go up though :-)
