Default Post New Thread Button

Hi All, as I'm sure most / some of you may be aware we have now changed the buttons in the section from "New thread" to "post new thread".

Its a slightly newer look and may help to alleviate any issues moving forward, helping to make the site more user firendly.

Thank you

Errr, maybe not quite yet.

But this is what is going to happen.

It should help with navigation.

(PS moved into a new thread).

Ummm...

"post new thread" contains two words that might be somewhat meaningless to internet or forum novices. post? thread?

However, "start new topic" might have the desired effect as it mirrors the thought of the member when he scans(hopefully) the page looking for some indication that satisfies his desire to start a new topic.

Point taken Plums, but its a change for the better, a slight upgrade if you will to the existing, hopefully to help newbies out some.

Its not a totally new change, therefore keeping a little of what once was, not always a bad thing.

We were all new here at some point, new to many different things at some point. Its what you put in that mirrors what you get out, and it will take a little checking around & a little research combined with common sense to get the gist of anything.

The new style button doesn't seem to be showing as yet for some reason, looking into it.

If it's supposed to be available then clear your local cache, or hit ctrl+f5 while on a page where the old button is showing. Any of the topic index pages will do the trick.

The above actions will force the browser to grab a fresh copy of the same file name.

Its showing for me, it just seems that others may have an issue seeing it?

Please post here if you can or can't see it.

Thanks

Typically it is me that has the problem.

After clearing and refreshing see below.

Not to worry, I don't really need to see it.

Chris,
When you enter a section, just above the list of topics for that section, on the upper left, is a dark gray button labeled in white, "Post New Thread."

Click on that and a new blank compose box appears.

The Post New Thread button is available from any main forum but NOT from within a thread:
