Default Posting Personal Contact Info

Does our Jaguar Forum have rules concerning posting personal contact info, such as a phone number, email address, etc. The reason I ask - through the Forum, I've discovered a fellow Jaguar owner who lives in the same town that I live in and I would like to contact him or have him contact me directly so that we could meet in person. Is there a way that I can look up his name, phone number or email address? Or, am I allowed to somehow post a new thread somewhere which contains my phone number or email address so that he can contact me? Thanks.

Hi there, no rules as such but generally most refrain from doing so for obvious reasons.

I'd suggest a simple pm ( private message ) to the guy in question and go from there.

I myself have done this many times and met various people from various forums.......generally all good

Hope it helps

Generally, you can contact someone throught the Private Message system.

You will also see an option to email, you wont see the other person's address but if they reply you will.

You can also click on a person's user name and view any public info that they are OK with.

You can of course post your own personal details, but we don't advise it.

Remember that anything you post or otherwise allow onto the internet is effectively there forever and available to anyone.

Once the genie is out of the bottle there is no way to stuff it back in.

Thanks to all who responded! However, being new to "forums" I'm not familiar with PM (Private Messages). How does that work? Is there a PM icon that I need to click on? Thanks, and sorry to ask you teach kindergarten to a 64 year old!

Snide, do you know if he is a member on this forum? If so to contact him through PM, click on his screen name (upper left corner of any of his posts). Use mine for example, click "joycesjag" and a drop down will appear, you will see "view public profile"
next one down is "send a private message to joycesjag" click on that. You are now able to type me a PM.

If you do not know his screen name here you can try to use the "Regional Section" here to try to reach out to him.
